Destiny 2 season 17 is finally here and is called “Season of the Haunted.” We will discuss everything new in this season and all changes that Bungie has brought to the game.
Destiny 2 is an online multiplayer game where you and your friends can join at any time and play in a dynamic world that is constantly evolving. You can change how your Guardian looks and plays by obtaining powerful elemental powers, handcrafted weapons, and unique items.
Bungie is constantly updating the game with new content and adding bits to their PvE storyline. Destiny 2’s story is continuously evolving, and players are experiencing new content with each update. For example, they have added a new story arc with this new season, “Season of the Haunted,” and changed the solar subclass to “Solar 3.0.” They have also done the same thing with the void subclass; now it’s called “Void 3.0”.

Story
The story is a big part of Destiny 2. The story of Destiny 2 is always evolving, and we get some new storylines that continue building upon the already vibrant lore with each new update. To continue on with their current narrative, Bungie has added two new stories with this update, and these are:
1. Leviathan’s Return
One can say vengeance, power, and depravity. Calus’s object of desire has taken many forms over the years. Finally, Calus’s once-opulent ship has returned to our galaxy, now derelict and corrupted, with its sights set on the Pyramid ship lying dormant on the Moon.
2. Ghosts of our Past
Nightmares finally awaken from the past, and the Leviathan connects with the Pyramid. It is threatening to torment anyone who dares to intervene. So look into the abyss and find bravery within the reaper’s mantle and the steel of the scythe.
Activities
There are some new activities with this new update, and these are:
Luna’s Ward
To better respond to the impending threat, the H.E.L.M. has activated its mobile command center capabilities and is now operating in the dark within the Moon’s orbit.

- SCALABLE ACTIVITY
Containment of Nightmares: Evil resonates within the hull of the emperor’s wretched vessel. Call forth the most difficult Nightmares and cleanse them with fire.
- WEEKLY MISSION
Sever: Make your way through the Leviathan’s maze. Discover the truth behind Calus’ sinister plan and sever the Nightmares he controls in the Underbelly.
Gear
Bungie has added some new gear in this update, and these are:
- Nightmares & Splendor
Trespasser: Fire Shiro-4’s Exotic Sidearm across the tarnished gold of the Leviathan’s twisted halls and earn the victory.
Season Pass
Gear, experience, and rewards! Purchase the Season Pass to gain instant access to the new Exotic Sidearm. Get XP boosts that accelerate Seasonal ranks and reward track unlocks.
- Instant Exotic
Unleash wrath with Trespasser’s catalyst and its nightmarish rank-100 Season Pass ornament.
- Universal Ornaments
Collect a new season of the Haunted ornament sets and become a gleaming bulwark of fire and steel.
- Enhanced Progression
Over 100 rewards, including XP, boosts, Exotic engrams, upgrade materials, cosmetics, etc.
Solar 3.0
Solar is the latest subclass to be redesigned entirely, thanks to the highly customizable Aspects and Fragments system. So light the creative flames, discover new builds, and demonstrate that there is never a wrong time to fight fire with fire.
To find restoration, Warlock befriends these fiery priests. If you oppose them, you will see destruction in the rain of shattered dawn. Hunter is a Radiant duelist who thrives on feats of agility and skill. Be wary of their true aim and the molten edge of their blade. Finally, Titan is a Siege engine propelled by the rage of unending suns. Confronting them means giving up ground and igniting the tidal wave that will destroy everything.
Bundle
Bungie has added new bundles with this new update, as usual.
Haunted Threads
There isn’t a band of Calus’ automatons decked out in black leather and gold spikes blasting out ear-splitting space metal on the Derelict Leviathan. Simultaneously, you unleash unrelenting lightning on a Nightmare charging at your fireteam.
Silver Bundle
Purchase the Season of the Haunted Silver Bundle to receive the Paper Windmill emote and 1,700 Silver (1,000 + 700 bonus Silver) to spend on Seasons, cosmetics, and other items! In-game, go to the Seasons tab to spend your Silver on Season of the Haunted. Then, speak with Master Rahool in the Tower to obtain your new emote.

When Will Season of the Haunted launch?
The new Season of the Haunted will be live from May 24, 2022.
