What are treasure coordinates?
Bungie releases a series of seasonal quests to progress throughout the season. Similarly, with the season of the plunder, they have also released a series of quests tied to the seasonal vendor called star chart. These quests will unlock every week after completing a certain task. For example, it may ask you to open a certain amount of treasure chest.
In order to open treasure chests, you need to collect some treasure coordinates first. Treasure coordinates used to open each chest may vary depending on which chest you are opening. But they usually take 30-70 treasure coordinates for each chest which is a lot. If you don’t know any efficient way to farm treasure coordinates, then you will burn through your treasure coordinates supplies in no time.
How to Obtain Treasure Coordinates?
As mentioned earlier, you must complete weekly quests to progress through the season. After completing your first weekly quest, you can obtain treasure coordinates by completing most of the core activities in Destiny 2. Since you can hold only 325 treasure coordinates at a time, you should spend them as soon as you have enough treasure coordinates and map fragments to open a chest.
The Optimal way to farm treasure coordinates is through the vanguard ops, gambit, and crucible playlist activities. Vanguard ops would be the best place to farm since it gives 45 treasure coordinates upon completion and more if you complete in more serious difficulties. Gambit and crucible give up to 40 treasure coordinates after completing a match.
Raids and other higher-difficulty activities also give you treasure coordinates, but the time investment is not worth it for the rewards. But if you don’t like grinding the same activity over and over again, you can play through any raids or lost sectors to obtain some treasure coordinates. If you play Destiny 2 on a regular basis, you won’t run out of treasure coordinates any time soon.
