Cyberpunk 2077 hits 1 million concurrent players on day one

The hype is real, Cyberpunk 2077 has hit 1 million concurrent views on twitch and million players on steam.

Cyberpunk is CD Projekt RED’s most hyped up game of this decade and the marketing team has done top-notch work. In a few hours of its release, it managed to cross a million players on steam. Moreover, Cyberpunk 2077 is the first single-player game to hit 1 million concurrent players as well.

In recent times in steam, the record of hitting more than a million has only been achieved a few times in the past. PUBG (3.2M), Dota 2 (1.3M), and CS:GO(1.3M) have been the only ones to hit more than one million players in steam. But all of them are online games where Cyberpunk 2077 is an Open-world RPG.

7 years’ worth of wait, undoubtedly so many fans are hopping in to play the game hours into the release. Not just on steam, Cyberpunk 2077 has blown up on twitch too as the of writing this article. It’s not surprising to see it up there on the top since it’s such a hyped-up game of 2020.

We don’t often see games hit the one million mark on twitch and especially for an RPG game. Big game events and E-sports events only have hit this mark in the past and today a new peak has been reached by Cyberpunk 2077. An open-world RPG against the major esports titles 2020 sure has some surprises for us.
