CSGO players have been asking Valve to make some sort of enhancement to the current demo playback option for a long time.
Seems like the folks at Valve finally listened. After almost a month of no major update, Valve decided to hit players with an enhanced UI demo playback option for players. In short, this new patch improves the overall playback experiences for demos. And as a result, it is a great improvement for creators.
CSGO introduces enhanced demo playback options:
CSGO patch 10/13/2020:
A new build (“188.8.131.52-beta-demo_index”) is now available in the CS:GO beta depot. This build is compatible with public matchmaking.
– Added a new setting “demo_index” — when enabled, playback of demo files will create full frame baselines to improve performance of seeking forward and rewinding within demo files.
While it may not look like a big deal for a lot of casual players, this is a great new addition for anyone who edits CSGO related videos. The community has been asking for something similar for a long time. Valve finally brings the demo playback UI into the twenty-first century.
Although players also want Valve to deal with the overwhelming amount of cheaters in the game. Valve’s anti-cheat solution is no longer providing adequate support it should. Consequently, players are getting more frustrated while dealing with this cheater epidemic.
