CSGO DreamHack Showdown 2020: Winter season is back

DreamHack Showdown is for the ambitious and aspiring Female CS:GO players looking to make their mark in the global eSports scene.

It aims to deliver a suitable platform to progress their growth as professional eSports players and looks to provide them with equal opportunities as their male counterparts.

This winter DreamHack will be conducting their last tournament for the year, DreamHack Showdown 2020: Winter season. The tournament will be held in two regions; Europe (EU) and North America (NA). It will be a Double-elimination tournament hosted online so that all the participants and audiences can safely partake in the tournament. Thus everyone can get to enjoy it from secure locations.

Tournament format by region:

Europe:
Date: Dec 15 – Dec 20
Teams: 4 Invited, 2 from Open Qualifiers
The directly invited teams will be seeded into the first round of the upper bracket. The qualified teams will face each other in the first round of the lower bracket. Grand finals will be played BO3 with no upper bracket advantage.
Prize Pool: $30,000 USD

North America:
Date: Dec 15 – Dec 20
Teams: 2 Invited, 2 from Open Qualifiers
Grand finals will be played BO3 with no upper bracket advantage.
Prize Pool: $20,000 USD

DreamHack Showdown has always provided the Female CS:GO players with some much-needed exposure. Furthermore, it has demonstrated that when given equal opportunities as their male counterparts they can capture quite a large audience. Even though they might not be ready for mixed tournaments quite yet, all-female CS:GO tournaments have captured a large viewership and are indeed deserving of more similar events and Sponsors.
