Crafting skill is different for weapons and gears. So, you will have to do both if you want to be most skilled at crafting.
Completing Crafting Skill Tasks Fast
As discussed before, the crafting skills are divided into weapon and gear sections. The weapon crafting one is called Weapon Engineering, and for the gears, Spacesuit Design. After unlocking these skills, it will give you a mission to craft the task of weapon or gear mods a certain number of times.
To complete this task and get the skill to the maximum level, you will have to make about 50 mods for each skill. Fortunately, the game also counts removing the mods to the task counter. So you can select a cheap mod, then add and remove it again and again to make the task counter go up quickly. Do this as long as you need, and your tasks will be done before you even know it!
