As of today, leaks and rumors from ModernWarzone suggest that the game would be titled “Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard”. They stated that this title is a working title and it could be changed in the future. Furthermore, they also reported that it would be based on an alternate timeline where WWII ends in the 1950s instead of 1945.
The game will be developed by Sledgehammer Games as the last two games were developed by Infinity Ward and Treyarch although Sledgehammer Games did have a part in Black Ops Cold War.
On the other hand, Eurogamer claims that they have been verifying Call of Duty leaks in each of the last five years and they believe that the information given by ModernWarzone wasn’t completely true.
Eurogamer says that Activision’s plan is to stick to the current title “Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard” for now. However, the rumor of the game being based on a WWII that ends in the 1950s isn’t true. It will just have a traditional setting to it.
Some leaks also suggest that the game would be integrated with Warzone. But players should take this with a grain of salt as no one has confirmed it yet. But the game will be probably set for integration with Warzone as it is the most played battle royale right now.
