Cloud9 Blue sweep Andbox 2-0 in the Nerd Street Gamers Monthly March 2021

Nerd Street Gamers: 2021 Monthly March is a series of tournaments hosted every month by Nerd Street Gamers. These tournaments are based online and the prize pool for the Monthly March is $10,000USD.

The tournament consists of 32 teams and is played in 2 stages. The first stage is the Group stage where there are 8 groups of four teams in a GSL format. The top two from each group advance to the playoffs. The Playoffs are are of a 16 team single elimination bracket with each game being best-of-3.

Team C9 Blue was the runner-up up in the Qualifiers and were eligible for the main event. In the top 16, they defeated Version1, Ghost Gaming and Renegades with two 2-0 and one 2-1 scorelines respectively. On the other hand, Andbox defeated Spacestation Gaming, PUGSTARS and noble also with two 2-0 and one 2-1 scorelines respectively in the main event. Now C9 Blue and Andbox face each other in the finals.

The first map was Ascent picked by C9 Blue. C9 Blue had gained a significant lead in the first half. In the second half, they showed dominance on the defending side by not giving up a single round and took the map. The second map was Split. C9 Blue gained a similar lead as the first map. In the second half, Andbox tried but failed but C9 managed to easily get the rounds they needed and closed the map as well as the series.

Overall, leaf and poiz from Cloud9 Blue showed outstanding performances with a +16 and +19 K/D and 182.5 and 160.2 ADR respecively.
