Rainbow Six APAC North and South Division Stage 1 came to a close this week after seven playdays.
From the APAC South region, Elevate came out on top as the stage 1 winners. Elevate’s former Australian roster was brought by The Chiefs Esports Club between playday 3 and 4 of the league. But the org then managed to sign the Thai squad of Xavier Esports.
Eventually, this move turned out to be a great one for Elevate, as they have quickly climbed to the number 1 spot with the new squad, who even managed to beat the former Australian squad on playday 5.
On the other hand, the APAC North stage 1 also concluded today, with Cloud9 getting a flawless run to the top of the table.
With straight seven wins, Cloud9 earned all of the available 21 points in stage 1. This means both Cloud9 and Elevate will play in the APAC Stage Championship on April 25th to crown the best team in the region. The tournament will feature a huge $93,750 prize pool, and more importantly, the teams will share 900 SI Points between themselves, increasing their chances of qualifying for SI’ 2022 by a great margin.
The second to fourth-placed teams in APAC North and South will also get a chance to earn some SI points through the APAC Playoffs. The APAC playoffs will be a Double Elimination tournament, featuring the 6 teams from APAC North & South and 2 teams from the South Asia Nationals. These 8 teams will fight for a total $43,250 prize pool and a share of 1265 SI Points.
Here are the confirmed six teams, who will be playing in the APAC playoffs.
The two finalists of the South Asia Nationals will be confirmed on April 18th, and then the APAC Playoffs will start on April 23rd. You can watch the matches live on Twitch and YouTube.
