This is our tier list for Arena 2v2v2v2, which is set to come soon.
Arena has been a huge hit in League of Legends thus far. PBE showed how much fun players are finding the game mode. This 2v2v2v2 concept has been something players wanted to play that is quick, action-packed, and fun things to experience.
The fact that different champions are viable, along with many Augments and Cameos, makes each game different. There are so many combinations to try out that you should not be bored of Arena 2v2v2v2.
With that said, there is a lot of theory-crafting going on with websites like OP.GG and Blitz tracking win rates for champions. However, Riot has established that these websites cannot track Augments stats as the API will not allow it anymore.
All that information allows players to try new stuff and play how they want to play Arena. To help players with that, here is our tier list for Arena regarding champions effective in the game mode.

After dividing all of the champions into the respective tier, let’s talk about these different tiers.
Z Tier (The OPs)
In this tier, we have four champions, and those are Taric, Heimerdinger, Kai’Sa, and Kayle.
Taric
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Vayne
- Jax
- Kayle
Taric is incredibly powerful in a 2 man-team situation as he provides so much as a Support and a Tank. He has the healing, shielding, and Ultimate that makes your partner invulnerable. Augments make him more powerful, and he is clearly the strongest champion in Arena, as he pairs up with just about anyone.
Heimerdinger
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Fiora
- Yorick
- Illaoi
Next is Heimerdinger, and the hotfix proved how strong he was. His ability to zone out opponents and cc them, especially in maps in Arena, makes Heimerdinger incredibly potent. Heimerdinger has way too much control and power in these battle scenarios, and Augments make him more annoying. A great partner and strong option in Arena.
Kai’Sa
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Annie
- Kennen
- Heimerdinger
Another incredibly versatile champion is Kai’Sa, as she gets to be a multi-faceted damage dealer. What makes her strong and unique is the long-range damage she can do as well as damage up front. It makes her incredible as a damage dealer and capable of doing anything regardless of who the pair is really.
Kayle
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Vayne
- Warwick
- Taric
Kayle is really strong as a versatile damage dealer and has an incredibly strong Ultimate in Arena. She pairs up really well with damage dealers and enchanters alike. An extremely versatile champion in Arena that can dominate as you go later into the game.
S Tier (Strong)
Next is the S tier, where we have quite a few champions, 22 to be exact. However, there are some differences when it comes to this tier. We have different sorts of champions, and here is a brief explanation of why we ranked each of them as such.
Annie
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Fiora
- Vayne
- Kindred
Even in Summoner’s Rift right now, Annie is one of the best burst mages. She has the CC to lock an enemy down and land a lot of the damage. In Arena’s case, Annie does both damage and locks an enemy down for her duo to land damage as well. Goes very well with pure damage dealers, and what makes it even better is Tibbers.
Vayne
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Taric
- Annie
- Soraka
Considering the 2v2 style, Vayne fits in quite nicely. She has the ability to kite and deal a lot of damage. Particularly when the Bruisers are doing great in the game mode. Pairing her up with something that can facilitate her will do wonders.
Fiora
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Taric
- Annie
- Kennen
Fiora is excellent as a Fighter, as you can really dish out damage and survive as a champion. A lot of possibilities to mechanically outplay the enemy, and she can use her Ultimate to get some of that health back after fighting. Works excellently in this game mode.
Warwick
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Annie
- Heimerdinger
- Kayle
This champion has been quite a surprise as Warwick has really performed well in Arena. What is great is the fact that he can act as a frontline and do damage. Also, suppression is one of the most annoying statuses in the game, and Warwick can easily lock someone down with that. Also, with the inherent healing of the champion, he works great in Arena with any partner that can do the rest of the damage.
Jax
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Taric
- Annie
- Ivern
As a Fighter, Jax does a lot of things right. He goes well with the likes of Taric, Ivern, etc, because he can do a ton of damage given the right support and situation. Counterstrike is incredible in Arena, and his ultimate gives a lot of resistances for survivability. An excellent choice in Arena if you know how to play.
Swain
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Taric
- Fiora
- Wukong
Swain works really well as a drain tank and is someone who can deal damage back. Pair up with a Fighter and Bruiser, and you struck gold. He inherently has a lot of sustain and can cause enough CC to let his duo do the rest.
Ivern
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Jax
- Warwick
- Vayne
What Ivern provides is much more than shielding and bushes. Daisy is incredibly strong as a summon, and Ivern does a lot with supportive items. Pair him up with Jax and Vayne, and you hit the jackpot. Excellent combination of peeling and supporting.
Twitch
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Heimerdinger
- Cassiopeia
- Annie
Twitch remains one of the strongest ADCs in Arena strictly for his abilities of going invisible and dealing a ton of long-range damage. Any CC or zone control type of champions work well with Twitch, and it is nice to go sneaky.
Master Yi
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Kennen
- Annie
- Taric
The prototypical hyper carry, Master Yi, does a lot if you pair him up with facilitators. Can go multiple different builds, but Attack Speed works best. Overall, an excellent choice that puts him in the S tier.
Kayn
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Taric
- Annie
- Herimerdinger
After nerfs, he has fallen quite a bit, even in the S tier. Kayn has a qualifier to be strong, and that is to gain his form quicker. In early rounds, you have to constantly fight and get all the benefits of getting the form quicker. Once you get the form, going for Rhaast is the best option, as he does more damage in the lethality build.
Even with the nerfs, he is still pretty but still requires a lot more skill.
Teemo
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Fiora
- Taric
- Warwick
Teemo is just obnoxious, and that’s pretty much it. He is still potent and dealing damage at strange times and can ambush quite easily. An interesting champion choice in Arena.
Wukong
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Taric
- Annie
- Kog’Maw
As a champion, Wukong is great. He has the CC, the damage, and the sustain. However, there is a bit of skill required for the champion. Thus, while he is pretty strong, there is a bit of skill required.
Zyra
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Vayne
- Warwick
- Illaoi
In this game mode, Zyra can do a lot of things. She has enough CC to lock down both opponents, and her plants do a fair bit of damage. It creates a zone where enemies have to think a little before approaching. Thus, pairing her with solid damage is always the way to go.
Kindred
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Annie
- Taric
- Heimerdinger
Kindred has the kit to be strong in this game mode. Ability to kite, a safe zone to prevent death, and scaling ability. All these together make her pretty strong. She works best with champions that can set up her damage or protect her from harm.
Mordekaiser
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Warwick
- Vayne
- Fiora
Mordekaiser is just annoying in this game mode. He creates 1v1 situations that can really upset the game mode. However, teams can build around it using QSS and other items. Regardless, the fact that Mordekaiser forces you down that path is hard enough to handle, much less his damage and ability to frontline.
Vladimir
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Heimerdinger
- Wukong
- Fiora
Vladimir is another oddball, as he can dish out a lot of damage the later the game goes. Items are the name of the game for him, and in order to succeed, you need the right ones. Play right, and you have one of the strongest champions in the game mode.
Brand
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Warwick
- Fiora
- Yorick
Brand excels at dealing damage to multiple targets, and his abilities can chain a lot of damage. Conditional CC, burn effect, and a fair bit of damage make him annoying.
Sona
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Vayne
- Jax
- Kayle
Sona has the CC and the utility, making her a great part of Arena. Her supportive capabilities, along with setup, make her potent. However, it’s a matter of timing and positioning with enchanters that can be a problem. Play her right and set up your carries to succeed.
Kennen
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Vayne
- Fiora
- Twitch
The fact that Kennen can do AoE damage and stun characters is strong enough. Give him a damage-dealing partner, and Kennen will steal matches. Incredibly strong but requires skill.
Cassiopeia
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Twitch
- Vayne
- Kai’Sa
Cassiopeia has the zoning ability and the damage. She is potent as a damage dealer and can stop enemy engages and disengages. Worth keeping an eye on her in Arena.
Sett
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Heimerdinger
- Annie
- Kennen
Works well as both a damage dealer, tank, and bruiser. Has the lockdown and true damage you cannot ignore at all.
Xayah
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Annie
- Kennen
- Heimerdinger
Xayah is incredibly strong in the right hands. She does a lot of damage and has the ultimate as her jail-free card. However, feather positioning is key, and pulling back at the right time determines wins and losses.
Illaoi
Best Champions To Pair With:
- Taric
- Annie
- Heimerdinger
A very conditional champion, but drawing opponents in is what she does best. Timing is key, as the right ultimate at the right time ruins the enemy team’s chances of winning.
A Tier (Good)
While S and Z tier are the best of the best, the A tier is still good but not as good as those champions. There are a lot of interesting champions in this tier, and for good reason.
This tier consists of champions like Alistar, Poppy, and Singed, that are great in certain situations in their ability to tank and CC. On the other hand, champions like Shaco fall here because of nerfs and other reasons.
The damage-dealing crew here is nice, with many Marksmen and Fighters on the list. A lot of the champions are Augments dependant, and there are quite a few of them. So do not be disheartened if you pick a champion from this tier and try to do the best you can as they are still good enough to win you plenty of games under the right plans and strategies.
B Tier (Average)
This tier has quite a few champions as well, and most of them are pretty average, as per the heading. A lot of them are conditional champions like Graves or have limited damage and shielding abilities like Morgana.
Also, these champions tend to be very skill dependent. So, while they are not higher up in the tier, they can cause enough havoc to win games on the right hands. Buy items right and pick good Augments and do your best in winning games. What’s important is to maximize the champions in this tier as much as possible and win games.
C Tier (Viable)
These champions are good in the right hands, but more the most part, they are not. In isolation, these champions require a lot of things to go in their favor and require more work to win games. Thus, they cannot be higher up on the list as a whole.
D Tier (Bad)
Lastly, we have D-tier, which just feels awful to pick in Arena. Champions like Ziggs barely do anything with the poke, while Jhin does not do enough damage to be in consideration. Also, Bard is just really bad as a champion, and Yuumi does not feel great to play with or against. Just avoid picking these champions and not go through the mindset of why you cannot win with them. Although, if you just want to have fun, go for it.
