CD Projekt Red is currently working on a fix for the infamous game-breaking Takemura quiet phonecall bug in Cyberpunk 2077 and will release a hotfix soon.
CD Projekt Red Released Cyberpunk 2077 back in December of 2020. But fans were soon troubled to find lots of bugs, glitches, and missing features. The game also ran very poorly on last-gen consoles which led to Sony even pulling the game from the PSN store.
Polish game developer and publisher company CD Projekt Red has since promised that the game will be getting major patches that will fix most of the problems. As part of this, they recently released a stability patch.
But the update backfired as a new game-breaking bug was introduced. During the quest titled “Down on the Street”, Takemura initiates a call with the main protagonist V but remains silent. This prevented many players from progressing the story of the game any further which is frustrating and annoying, to say the least.
CD Projekt Red technical support recently released a statement regarding the status of the bug and also suggested a potential workaround until they figure out a fix. The statement reads, “We’re working on the issue where the conversation with Takemura may not start during the quest “Down on the Street” for @CyberpunkGame and plan to release a Hotfix to address it as soon as possible.”
The workaround requires you to load a previous save game before the bug happens in-game. The save file needs to be before Takemura and V leave Wakako’s office.
The potential workaround-
- Load a gamesave before Takemura and V leave Wakako’s office.
- Finish the conversation with Takemura outside the office right away
- Right after the finished conversation and when the quest was updated, skip 23h.
- See if the holocall triggers and the dialogue with Takemura starts
Keep in mind this is a potential workaround for the bug and might not work for everyone. Hopefully, CD Projekt Red can figure a universal fix for this bug and roll out the hotfix soon.
