Best XM4 Loadout for Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 Last Stand Reloaded

XM4 is Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s strongest rifle. Here’s an in-depth guide on how to create the best loadout for XM4 in Warzone Season 5 Last Stand Reloaded.

XM4 is a rifle with similar qualities as the M4A1 from Modern Warfare (2019). Both guns have excellent damage outputs. However, a slightly slower fire rate makes the XM4 different from the M4A1. The slower fire rate does not make the XM4 a bad choice for players to use in Warzone. It is an excellent pick for players to dominate long-range gunfights.

The XM4 has the highest pick rate amongst all the rifles from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s weapon pool. The weapon was added into the game with the day one weapon pool. Later, the gun was integrated into Warzone with the integration of the Black Ops Cold War (2020).

The gun was a popular A.R. in Cold War multiplayer, with pro players using it for CDL matches. Unsurprisingly, the weapon gained the same popularity in Warzone. It is an excellent long-range beamer with the correct build. However, the gun was nerfed at the early stage of Warzone Pacific Season 2, significantly reducing the neck damage multiplier.

How to unlock the XM4 in CoD Warzone

The XM4 is part of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s weapon pool. It is an Assault Rifle (A.R.), an unlockable weapon available after reaching level 4. It is part of the post-launch weapon line available to all players from day one. Most players will have the gun unlocked by joining a Warzone match.

The best tip for leveling up in Call of Duty: Warzone is to spend more time in-game. The experience (XP) system in Warzone is pretty straightforward. The more time you spend in-game, the more XP you will gain. Additionally, completing daily and weekly challenges will provide extra XP, which will be helpful to level it up faster. After unlocking and leveling it up quickly, players can choose from various attachments.

Best XM4 Loadout

Muzzle: Agency Suppressor

Barrel: 13.5″ Task Force

Optic: Axial Arms 3x

Underbarrel: Field Grip

Magazine: 45 Rnd Mags

The agency suppressor improves recoil control and provides added suppression to the XM4. Axial Arms 3x is an optic with 3x magnification that will provide clear vision in mid-range to long-range gunfights with the Assault Rifle. The 13.5″ Task Force barrel provides more bullet velocity with an added damage range, making taking long-range gunfights easier.

The field agent grip is the best underbarrel for the weapon. The grip helps in controlling the recoil, making it easier to beam players in long-range gunfights. As for the magazine, the 45 Round Mags increases the initial ammo capacity. The mag does not affect the aim down sight speed, unlike the 60 Round Mags. This loadout makes it an aggressive A.R. that complements rush and sniper playstyles. XM4 will be viable in long-range and very good at mid-range fights.

Best Equipment & Perks for XM4 Loadout

  • Secondary: Armaguerra 43 (Vanguard) or Kar98k (Modern Warfare)
  • Tactical: Stim (Modern Warfare), or Heartbeat Sensor (Modern Warfare)
  • Lethal: Throwing knives (Modern Warfare), or Proximity Mine (Modern Warfare)
  • Perk – 1: Quick Fix, or E.O.D
  • Perk – 2: Overkill
  • Perk – 3: Amped, or Combat Scout

Quick Fix is the ideal perk for players constantly engaging in gunfights, enabling health regeneration when an enemy is killed. Opting for E.O.D. is also feasible to take less damage from non-killstreak explosives and fire.

Overkill as the second perk is a must; players can carry an extra primary weapon in the secondary slot. Pairing Armaguerra 43 or Kar98k with this A.R. will make the loadout more potent, and the secondary will help in handling both mid to close-range gunfights with ease. Our Armaguerra 43 loadout focuses on a close-range S.M.G. build.

To swap between the weapons faster, Amped is the go-to. Faster switching between weapons will help in getting an edge over other players. Combat scout briefly highlights the whole team when an enemy player is shot.

Throwing Knife (Modern Warfare)

As for tactical, stim gives an instant health regeneration upon use. The Heartbeat sensor can help track other players roaming nearby and plan the next gunfight strategy. Throwing knives as lethal can be a backup in a close gunfight; it has a one-shot potential on players with a minimal level of armor. Moreover, after downing a player, immediately throwing a knife will eliminate the player regardless of the range it’s thrown from. Proximity mine can be opted out for throwing knives to watch flank when stationary.

All the latest XM4 Buffs & Nerfs

XM4 had a high pick rate besides the Bren due to its capability to dominate long-range gunfights. With the launch of Warzone Pacific Season 2, these two guns dominated the long-range meta while other assault rifles and L.M.G.s struggled to compete with these two.

The weapon was significantly nerfed with the March 2, 2022 update. The neck damage multiplier of the gun was decreased, making it a little weak in long-range gunfights compared to its peak form. The nerf decreased its popularity. However, it is still the most picked assault rifle in Cold War’s weapon pool.

Weapon Adjustments

XM4 (BOCW)

  • Neck Damage Multiplier decreased to 1.33, down from 1.5.

Other Alternatives to the XM4 in the Current Meta

Other alternatives to XM4 in the current meta is Cooper Carbine (Vanguard) and STG44 (Vanguard). Cooper Carbine is an assault rifle with a high fire rate and heavy damage input in long-range gunfights. It is currently the most picked gun in Warzone since players use it for mid to long-range gunfights. Check out our Cooper Carbine loadout to create the best long-range beamer.
