OTs 9, Call of Duty Cold War’s most versatile S.M.G, was added to Warzone in a content update. Here’s a step-by-step tutorial on creating the optimal loadout for OTs 9.
OTs 9, based on the OTS-02 Kiparis, is a similar weapon to the Skorpio as it’s a fully automatic compact Assault Rifle with Sub-Machine Gun like attributes. It has an excellent fire rate and can dominate close-range gunfights with great efficiency. Unsurprisingly, this SMG has exceptional mobility and maneuverability. As such, it’s a lot easier to be aggressive, perform rapid flanks, and outmaneuver opponents because of its ease of usability.
At close range encounters, the OTs 9 shines. The weapon’s high fire rate, low recoil, and quick handling contribute to its effectiveness. Unsurprisingly, Caldera’s open spaces are not a great fit for this weapon. Instead, confined regions and structures are the optimal places for it to shine. Not to mention, OTs 9 is a godly weapon for Rebirth Island as it can help players rush corners without any worry.
The OTs 9 has some of the most robust movement stats in the game, so if players want to move around by slide canceling, it is the optimal gun for that use case. It was nerfed last year, decreasing its maximum damage output and headshot damage multiplier. However, it still retained its popularity in the multiplayer lobbies as well as Warzone.

How to Unlock the OTs 9 in CoD Warzone
The OTs 9 is a part of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s (BOCW) weapon pool and can be unlocked by completing a simple challenge.
In Multiplayer (BOCW):
Get three kills on enemies impacted by your tactical equipment in 15 games.
In Warzone:
Using an S.M.G. get a double kill in 15 different matches.
The challenge is comparatively easy to complete. A helpful tip to unlock it faster is to play the Plunder game mode in Warzone and leave after getting a double kill. Plunder is an easier way to unlock this weapon because it has active respawn enabled. Using S.M.G.s from Black Ops Cold War would be safer if other S.M.G.s did not count towards the challenge. Players can also play Rebirth Island as it is a more fast-paced map where more engagements will occur in every corner.
Best OTs 9 Loadout
Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
Barrel: 8.1″ Task Force
Stock: No Stock
Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
Magazine: Spetsnaz 40 Rnd Mags
The S.M.G. benefits greatly from the GRU Suppressor. With this muzzle, the effective damage range, vertical recoil, and bullet velocity all improve. The OTs 9 also gets sound suppression, which is important in the late game because it ensures your shots aren’t picked up on the radar.
The 8.1″ Task Force barrel is ideal for this weapon, increasing the effective damage range, strafe speed, and bullet velocity. The OTs 9 can take down enemies from mid-range with the muzzle buffs.
The field agent grip is the best underbarrel for the weapon. The grip helps in controlling the recoil, making it easier to beam players in long-range gunfights. As for the magazine, the Spetsnaz 40 Round Mags increase the initial ammo capacity. This loadout makes it an aggressive S.M.G. that complements rush and sniper playstyles.
Best Equipment & Perks for OTs 9 Loadout
Secondary: Cooper Carbine (Vanguard) or Kar98k (Modern Warfare)
Tactical: Stim (Modern Warfare), or Heartbeat Sensor (Modern Warfare)
Lethal: Throwing knives (Modern Warfare), or Claymore (Modern Warfare)
Perk – 1: Quick Fix, or E.O.D
Perk – 2: Overkill
Perk – 3: Amped, or Combat Scout
Quick Fix is the ideal perk for players constantly engaging in gunfights, enabling health regeneration when an enemy is killed. Opting for E.O.D. is also feasible to take less damage from non-killstreak explosives and fire.
Overkill as the second perk is a must; players can carry an extra primary weapon in the secondary slot. Pairing Cooper Carbine or Kar98k with this S.M.G. will make the loadout more potent, and the secondary will help in handling both long to mid-distance gunfights with ease. Our Cooper Carbine loadout focuses on a long-range Assault Rifle build.
To swap between the weapons faster, Amped is the go-to. Faster switching between weapons will help in getting an edge over other players. Combat scout briefly highlights the whole team when an enemy player is shot.
As for tactical, stim gives an instant health regeneration upon use. The Heartbeat sensor can help track other players roaming nearby so that your next move. Throwing knives as lethal can be a backup in a close gunfight. It has a one-shot potential on players with a minimal level of armor. Moreover, after downing a player, immediately throwing a knife will eliminate the player regardless of the range it’s thrown from. Claymore can be opted out for throwing knives to watch flank when stationary.
