MP40 received nerfs with the launch of season 2 of Warzone Reloaded. The nerf basically decreased it’s maximum and mid-range damage output. Since the update also targeted many weapons in the same category, the nerf did not reduce MP40’s popularity in any way.

The MP40 has not been nerfed or buffed significantly yet. With the start of season 2 of Warzone Pacific, MP40 was nerfed as a part of gun balancing in-game. All Vanguard weapons were adjusted to match their ballistics with the Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War weapons.
