The task of the Killers is simple. Hunt down and sacrifice everyone. Furthermore, there are many gruesome and gory ways to carry out this task. Either decapitation or hang them to a sacrificial hook. Each killer has their own way of playing and abilities.

As of writing, there are currently 26 Killers in Dead by Daylight that includes original creations and are taken from popular media.

Evan MacMillan – Trapper

The Trapper as the name suggests uses his trapping abilities to control areas and slow down victims. His strength and endurance make a good choice for beginners.

Philip Ojomo – Wraith

Wraith’s abilities allow him to cloak, track and hunt down Survivors with surprise. Hence making him a stealth specialty. Although perfecting his playstyle is not too easy.

Max Thompson Jr. – Hillbilly

The Hillbilly is fast and agile. Combining it with his hammer and chainsaw makes him one scary killer that is hard to run away from. As he can catch up within seconds.

Sally Smithson – Nurse

Like the Hillbilly, the Nurse is also very hard to run away from as well as hide from. As, she can warp, blink through walls and long distances to come up at your face and slash away with her long-range bone saw. On the other hand, her powers being limited to tracking and spotting makes her a difficult Killer to master.

Michael Myers – Shape

Coming from the cult-classic Halloween series of movies, The Shape has a unique ability to lock on a single survivor with his Obsession which allows him to get stronger as he stalks his locked Obsession.

Lisa Sherwood – Hag

The Hag curses Survivors with her Hex Totems that can be placed at different areas around a map. Furthermore, these Hex Totems will inflict dangerous hexes on your opponent which cripples them from their abilities and hence, making them easy prey.

Herman Carter – Doctor

The mad Doctor uses his Static Blast to incapacitate Survivors, causing them to scream in terror thus revealing their positions. It also makes them hallucinate hence restricting free movement. Furthermore, he can overcharge generators that are a nuisance for the other team.

Anna – Huntress

The Huntress is a dangerous killer with her tracking and hunting perks, in addition to her Throwing Hatchets. This means distance is not an issue for our deadly, swift Anna.

Bubba Sawyer – Cannibal

Cannibal Bubba Sawyer is an iconic chainsaw-wielding maniac. More popularly is known as Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie. Cannibals can remove items and abilities from survivors, and hide easily from Survivors and mow down anyone with his Power attack, Bubba’s Chainsaw.

Freddy Krueger – Nightmare

Coming from Nightmare on Elm Street, Freddy Krueger is a terrifying Killer in the game. Just like in the movies, he traps Survivors in his Dream World where he becomes increasingly powerful and can move easily around the map. A hard character to master as his playstyle focuses on slowing down opponents as they try to flee.

Frank, Julie, Susie, Joey – Legion

The Legion is not one but a group of deadly killers that quickly locates and hunts down survivors with ease. The Legion’s power Feral Frenzy allows them to attack multiple people at once with immense speed.

Adiris – Plague

Hailing all the way from ancient Babylon, The Plague inflicts sickness and hinders the Survivor movement. Her power can infect both players and environmental objects, which causes sickness to players if they interact with it. Additionally, her perks include making survivors scream out of fear and reveal positions.

Danny Johnson – Ghost Face

Another movie crossover, Scream’s Ghost Face makes its way to Dead by Daylight. His abilities include stealth approaches and surprise attacks. Moreover, he is also an expert tracker. His Power, Night Shroud makes it hard for other players to detect Ghost Face’s deadly presence.

Amanda Young – Pig

She is as deadly as she was in the Saw movies, Pig can go stealth and ambush nearby Survivors. Her Reverse Bear Trap is an interesting specialty of hers, and survivors wearing it has to remove it within a time frame or suffer a gory death. She is also skilled in tracking down others.

Jeffrey Hawk – Clown

A purely strategic Killer. Clown uses perks to vault over objects, disrupt Survivor healing, repairing, Moreover, Clown uses noxious gas that slows down, impairs the vision of Survivors. In addition to giving away their position.

Rin Yamaoka is a mobile Killer. She can teleport through maps to catch anyone off guard. Spirit also has the ability to observe and bait opponents into their unfortunate demise.

Stranger Things’ infamous Demogorgon uses portals to cover large distances as well as to detect Survivors through them. Once detected it can jump on unsuspecting enemies through these portals.

She can both locate and attack Survivors from afar using her perks. Making her crazy powerful in this game.

The Artists’ perks include Grim Embrace which can block generators and reveal the Aura of Obsession. The Scourge Hook perk is a game-changer. Every time a Survivor is hooked onto these special hooks, the generator with the most progression explodes and loses its progression which also starts to decrease.

Her Hex: Pentimento perk reduces repair, healing, recovery, and gate opening speed. The magnitude of which depends on the totems earned.

The S-tier killers are some of the most rewarding and also strongest in the whole game. Either these killers are experts at tracking down and hit with a surprise attack or are impossible to defend against.

The A-tier Killers provide a good balance between everything although some might be overpowered than others especially Hillbilly and his quick traversal abilities.

B-tiers Killers can be an unstoppable force but only when used in the right circumstances. Some of them are more looks than substance or hard to master.

Killers in the C-tier have some very destructive abilities but they can be of very limited or situational use. Hence one often has to rely on chances to use them effectively. On the other hand, some of them are quite fun to play with. Yet considering the other options they might as well be left unplayed as.
