We will be looking at the best skins of our favorite archer, Hanzo.
Hanzo Shimada was a Ninja of the Great Shimada clan and the elder among two brothers. He had a younger brother named Genji who was straying from the right path that would eventually doom the clan. Burdened with the duties to the clan, Hanzo took it upon himself and struck down his younger brother. He later lived shouldering the pain of killing his brother in a life of guilt and sorrow.
But one day he found out that his brother is alive thanks to cybernetic limbs and he forgives Hanzo for what he has done. This scene is showcased excellently in of the best Overwatch animated shorts: Dragons.
Hanzo is a DPS hero in Overwatch and has incredibly high damage at long range with his bow and arrow. His abilities include storm arrow capable of dealing burst damage and he also has a leap ability giving him some form of evasion. Hanzo has a Sonar arrow that lets him see his enemies through walls and his passive ability is wall-climb letting him get onto advantageous positions. He is adored by casual and pro players alike and has a wide assortment of Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Special skins.
Overwatch’s has 6 Seasonal events throughout the year: Summer Games, Lunar New Year, Overwatch Archives, Anniversary, Halloween Terror, and Winter Wonderland. Skins that are unique to an event can only be unboxed from that specific events’ loot box and also be purchasable from the store during the runtime of that event. Earning an event loot box is the same as earning a regular loot box. It just needs to be earned during the ongoing event. Overwatch Anniversary is a unique event where you can purchase skins from all seasonal events. Seasonal skins cost 3x their usual price in their release year.

Top 10 Best Hanzo skins in Overwatch
With so many skins released for our favorite bowman, we will pick out our top 10 favorite skins. In this list, we will be only listing skins that are available in loot boxes or that can be purchased from the in-game store and won from Challenge events. We will be including the default skins that are always available as well as the skins that are available from Seasonal events as well as limited-time Challenges.
We did not include Overwatch League skins as they require a premium currency called OWL Tokens which need to be purchased or earned in a separate method.
10. Kabuki (Legendary)
At #10 we have the Kabuki which is a Legendary Tier skin and it can be purchased in-game for 1000 credits. It is a regular skin so it can be bought at any time or opened from a regular loot box.
Kabuki is a traditional form of Japanese dance drama. Performers are seen wearing glamorous costumes and elaborate kumadori make-up which is depicted perfectly in this skin for Hanzo.
His bow is one of the coolest in the game is a white and black-themed one with red accents.
9. Demon (Epic)
Hanzo’s Demon skin is an Epic tier skin that can be purchased from the in-game store for 250 credits or opened from a loot box. However, since it is an event skin it can only be bought during Halloween terror or opened from the event loot box.
Demon Hanzo is depicted as a dark-skinned version of Hanzo with creepy tattoos and full white eyes. His weapon is his default one in a black and red theme.
8. Young Hanzo (Legendary)
Young Hanzo depicts the hero back in his youthful days when the great Shimada clan was at its peak. It shows Hanzo wearing an orange training robe, hair loose, and no facial hair.
This is a Legendary tier skin that can be purchased from the in-game store for 1000 credits or opened from a loot box. It is a regular skin it can be bought any time or opened from a regular loot box.
His weapon is a recurve bow with metal reinforcement and a jade dragon as the counterbalance.
7. Wave (Legendary) sg
Wave is a Legendary Tier skin and can be purchased for 1000 credits. However, it is an event skin and can be purchased during Summer Games or opened from an event loot box.
He fashions a summer outfit complete with a parted sleeveless jacket exposing his torso and shorts. He has a full beard but is trimmed down and has a crossbody sling bag. His weapon is similar to a water pistol.
6. Okami (Legendary)
Okami is a Legendary tier skin for Hanzo that can be purchased for 1000 credits or opened from a seasonal loot box. It is a regular skin meaning that this can be purchased at any time or opened from a normal loot box.
Hanzo is shown as a wolf hunter and he has clothes fashioned from the fur and head of a wolf. His bow is also made of different wolf bones.
With this skin equipped, all his voice lines change into Wolf-themed ones and his ultimate voice line is “Ōkami yo, waga teki wo kurae!” meaning “TheWolf Hunts for its prey!” instead of “Ryū ga waga teki wo kurau!” meaning “Let the Dragon consume you!”.
5. Dai-Tengu (Legendary) ht
In Japanese folklore, Tengus are a type of mischievous supernatural being. Among them, the Dai-Tengu is the most powerful and is often revered by the locals as Gods.
Dai-Tengu is a Legendary Tier skin and it can be purchased for 1000 credits or opened from a seasonal loot box. It can only be obtained during HalloweenTerror.
As the name suggests, Hanzo is depicted as a Dai-Tengu featuring red skin, a long nose, and a spiked beard. His bow also appears as a mythical weapon used by the demons.
4. Huang Zhong (Legendary)
Huang Zhong was a Chinese general who served under the warlord Liu Bei during the late Eastern Han dynasty. He was named one of the Five Tiger Generals by Liu after the Hanzhong Campaign in 219. Huang Zhong is featured as a prominent character in the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong.
It is a Legendary Tier skin and it can be purchased for 1000 credits. However, it is an event skin and is only available for purchase during Lunar New Year. It can also be obtained from the seasonal loot box.
In this skin, Hanzo is portrayed as the Chinese General with his signature beard, helmet, and robes. His ornamental bow is also from the early Chinese era.
3. Scion (Legendary)
In the top 3, we have Scion which is a Legendary Tier skin that can be purchased for 1000 credits. However, it is an event skin and is only available for purchase during Overwatch Archives.
Scion Hanzo is dressed in formal attire in a vest, has slicked-back hair and gloves. Overall it’s a very sleek and stylish skin for the hero. His weapon is also a simple minimalistic wooden recurve bow.
2. Casual (Legendary)
For the second-best skin, we have Casual Hanzo. It is a Legendary Tier skin and it can be purchased for 1000 credits. However, it is an event skin and is only available for purchase during Winter Wonderland.
This skin was based on the Overwatch official winter comic but when the skin first came out Hanzo had a thicker white beard instead. The fans complained about the inaccuracy and the skin was swiftly updated to match the comic’s thinner and black beard which looks so much better in our opinion.
The skin features Hanzo in winter wear with a thick jacket. His bow is a modern compound bow.
1. Cyberninja (Legendary) ann
We have Hanzo’s Cyberninja skin as the best skin for him. It portrays the hero in an advanced hi-tech suit with cybernetic enhancements. He has silver armor with orange accents and a face mask.
It can be purchased from the store for 1000 credits or opened from a loot box. However, since it is an event skin, it can only be purchased during Overwatch Anniversary or opened from any event loot box.
His bow is also modern and hi-tech featuring the same white and orange theme.
Best Hanzo skin with the Golden Gun
Of all the skins, the Golden weapon wielded by Cyberninja looks by far the best. The golden version of the skin is a full gold bow which really suits the theme.
All the rare Hanzo skins
The Rare tier of Hanzo skins costs 75 credits each and is also commonly attainable in loot boxes. They feature basic recolors of the original skin in a single color. Most of the players who are new to the game and like to play Hanzo will find themselves starting out with purchasing a Rare skin for Him.
