Every character can cast elemental magic by drawing powers from one of the seven elements present in the game. In this guide, we will specifically be focusing on Anemo characters who draw their powers from the Wind through the Anemo Archon named Barbatos. Moreover, it is also the first element you are introduced to when you start off the game with one of the Traveller twins. Here, our goal is to list all Anemo characters you can obtain in Genshin Impact and rank them in tiers.

All Anemo Characters in Genshin Impact

As of writing, Genshin Impact has introduced up to 7 playable Anemo characters in 2022.

Despite which twin you choose, they are both 5-star characters and sword-wielders. Although they are the only characters whose elemental powers are adaptive, they both start off their journey with the blessing of the Anemo Archon Barbatos. Their Palm Vortex Elemental Skill allows them to blast away the enemies in front of them with a vortex forged from the palm of their hands – dealing Anemo damage in the process.

Moreover, it also helps accelerate the damage of any other element through Elemental Absorption. Furthermore, through their elemental burst, the twins are able to gain altitude and create a tornado that deals Anemo damage over a large area of effect.

Jean

Jean is another 5-star Anemo user and sword-wielder in Genshin Impact. Moreover, she also works for the Knights of Favonius as their Acting Grand Master. Her Gale Blade elemental skill allows her to draw forth the power of the winds and blast enemies away with the swing of her sword. Moreover, she can also charge her attack to create a whirlwind that pulls enemies and obstacles towards her. Through her elemental burst, Jean is able to form a powerful wind vortex that deals massive AoE Anemo damage to surrounding enemies. This move also restores a generous amount of HP for herself and her allies. Truly a power move, one would say!

Kaedehara Kazuha

Kazuha, the descendent of the Kaedehara clan, is yet another 5-star Anemo user that is also a sword-wielder in Genshin Impact. Through his Chihayaburu Elemental skill, he is able to cause a powerful wind blast over a large radius on the ground, which also lifts him away from the enemy’s grasps. It is also powerful enough to break Geo shields and constructs. His elemental burst move is similar to Jean’s, only much more powerful in terms of impact and the AoE Anemo damage dealt. It will also accelerate the damage of any other element through Elemental Absorption.

Sayu

Sayu is a 4-star Anemo character who uses Claymores in battle. She is a ninja based in Inazuma with a fun Elemental skill named Yoohoo Ninja Arts! Through her elemental skill, she is able to transform herself into a ball that can roll through enemies and knock them off their feet. The move is similar to Sonic’s classic run if we had to compare it in terms of visuals. It allows players to deal Anemo damage over a controlled area. Moreover, her elemental burst allows her to summon two Darumas that heal her and her allies and deal Anemo damage to nearby enemies.

Venti

Next, we have the Anemo Archon in flesh. Venti is a 5-star Anemo user and a Bow-wielder in Genshin Impact. His Skyward Sonnet Elemental Skill allows him to call forth a giant Wind Domain that shoots him up by several feet and deals Anemo damage to enemies caught in the wind. It is great for hitting multiple enemies in one go, especially if the enemy numbers overwhelm you. Moreover, his elemental burst allows him to imbue the power of the winds into his arrow before shooting it into oblivion, creating a giant Stormeye that pulls everything towards it, dealing continuous Anemo damage in the process.

Sucrose

Her Astable Anemohypostasis Creation – 6308 Elemental Skill allows her to knock off her enemies through a whirlwind. Moreover, through her elemental burst, she is able to create a large Wind Spirit that deals Anemo damage to enemies through its continuous pushing and pulling at enemies. Furthermore, it also accelerates the damage of any other element through Elemental Absorption.

Xiao

His Lemniscatic Wind Cycling Elemental Skill allows him to dash through the wind with extreme power, dealing Anemo damage to enemies caught in the way. With this skill, he is able to easily cross broken bridges and other gaps. Xiao’s elemental burst allows him to increase his speed and strength by a large threshold, which is incredibly useful for fighting against large enemies.

Best Anemo Characters in Genshin Impact (A Complete Tier List)

  • Best (S-tier): Venti, Xiao, Kazuha
  • Good (A-tier): Jean, Sayu, Sucrose
  • Average (B-tier): Traveller

Venti is an incredibly strong character and the best Anemo user in Genshin Impact as of writing. Both his elemental skill and elemental damage is great for handling multiple enemies. Not only that, but his plunging attack can also be a handful for foes of all kinds. While on air, he can rain down hordes of arrows down on enemies before landing with a powerful ground slam that knocks them off their feet. Venti can be an excellent support for your team.

Like Venti, Xiao also makes it at the top of the list for his core strength. He is not only quick on his feet but can also hit multiple enemies through his plunge attacks and elemental burst. With that being said, he is also effective against large bosses when he dons his Yaksha Mask. He can make up to six consecutive strikes with his polearm and perform powerful ground slams that shake enemies up across a large area. He is powerful enough to be played as a DPS for your team.

Kazuha’s Anemo imbued swordsmanship hits a bit harder than Jean’s, for which he took the spot as an S-tier Anemo character. Kazuha Slash can devastate enemies with its power over a wide area of effect, and the Autumn Whirlwind after-effect is just the cherry on top. Moreover, he can slash his enemies up to a consecutive five strikes, and shake the ground with his plunge attack too when hit from mid-air. Like Xiao, Kazuha can also be used as the main DPS of your team.
