The game mechanics are eerily similar to Overwatch and will allow players to play in a team of six people.
Yes, you read the title right. The famous Gundam franchise is getting an FPS treatment. Bandai Namco has just dropped the trailer for the free-to-play first-person shooter. The game is titled Gundam Evolution and has only been announced for PC. Moreover, it has only been announced in Japan at the time of writing.
In addition to that, the game has officially started its beta testing phase in Japan today. Bandai is hoping to attract at least five thousand Japanese players to participate in the beta test. Furthermore, Bandai has set up a new dedicated website for Gundam Evolution, which outlines the beta test details.
It seems that the beta test will take place from 15th July to 2nd August. Application for participating in the beta test is now open. However, as mentioned earlier, it is only limited to Japanese residents.
Although, the game is likely to be launched in several parts of the world, too. That’s because Bandai Namco had previously announced to be working on a Gundam video game that is catered towards Esports. The six on six first-person-shooter will allow players to fight in their Mobile Suits and utilize Gundam’s boost system.
