Atlus has met immense success with its fifth installment in the Persona franchise. In fact, Persona 5 was such a hit that it got two more games under its name. Persona 5 Royal, which was released as a PlayStation exclusive, brings brand new characters, storyline, and possible endings to the table. On the other hand, Persona 5 Strikers was released on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It serves as a sequel to Persona 5 vanilla.

Persona 5 Royal sold over 1.8 million copies worldwide. Moreover, Persona 5 Strikers also sold over 1.3 million copies. Given its success, people have high expectations from Atlus. As a result, Atlus director Naoto Hiraoka feels immense pressure to deliver something that will surpass Persona 5.

Job Listing for a New IP

Atlus has recently published a brand new job listing for an unannounced game in the Persona series. This aligns perfectly with Atlus director’s comments about needing fresh staff to create something that surpasses Persona 5. He stated:

“Thanks to the large amount of support we received for Persona 5, we have gotten a sense of accomplishment. But we can’t stop there. When we created Persona 4, there was the pressure that it had to exceed Persona 3. Now, we will have to create a 6 which exceeds 5.
However, exceeding 5 will be difficult with the current staff. I would like to surpass this tall hurdle with everyone who joins us in this recruitment. The workplace is perfect for those who want a creative challenge when it comes to bringing games to the world.”
