Players of the popular FPS battle royale game Apex Legends have banded together to let the game publishers know about their dissatisfaction with the current state of the game.
Respawn Entertainment, the developers behind the popular Titanfall franchise of video games decided to join the battle royale genre with Apex Legends which is basically a spin-off game set in the same universe as Titanfall.
Following its release, the game was littered with tons of server-related bugs. And over the years, server-related issues, hackers, and a lack of audio cues have made the game unplayable for some players in the Apex community.
Unfortunately, these issues are really prevalent, especially in the competitive ranked mode. As leaving a match in the middle will make you lose your precious ranking points, players who are looking for a bit more competitive experience have been screwed over by the current state of the game.
Players review bomb Apex on Steam
With every major update, the game introduces new unwanted bugs and the server situation isn’t holding up that good either. Suffices to say that the Apex community has been very vocal about their dissatisfaction. And to show their frustration with the current state of the game, a lot of players left a negative review on Steam.
Following this review bombing session, Apex Legends’ recent review score has gone down to “Mixed” from “Positive”. Even though the overall review on Steam still says it is a “Very Positive” experience, the recent reviews have tainted the overall score.
Also, some players within the Apex community are now asking players to avoid purchasing any more upcoming event-related cosmetic items as a form of a boycott to make the publishers notice.
Similar to other live service video games, Apex has a lot of technical issues that the devs have to deal with on a consistent basis. Players are now hoping Respawn will be able to reduce the server disconnects to a minimum so that they can go back and enjoy Apex in the way it was always intended to be.
