Apex Legends’ increased level cap badges may arrive alongside the next-gen cross-progression update

Apex Legends players may soon be able to show off their increased level cap badges, a recent leak suggests.

The fans of the popular battle royale game Apex Legends have been recently treated with season 11 that came with the usual seasonal updates that like a new map, a new weapon, a new legend, and plenty of other QoL updates.

And now, a new leak claims Respawn might be planning to increase the level cap again so that players with high XP can show off their achievement within the game. The current level cap system restricts the level of a player account to level 500. No matter how many XP you gain you can’t really go to anything above level 500.

Increased Level Cap

Turns out, an increased level cap system has been in the game for a long time now. However, Respawn wants to release it as a package deal with other progression mechanics that they have been working on for some time.

As the other progression-related mechanics are not ready for prime time yet, Respawn has decided to postpone the release of the new level cap system. Also, they want the new level cap system to be released in multiple phases.

Although the devs are hinting that players should expect a more significant update to the whole progression system to arrive alongside the cross-progression update that is slated for a 2022 release, as of writing. In short, expect new updates to slowly roll out in season 12 of Apex Legends.

Having said that, the release of cross-progression has been a tough one for Respawn both from a technical point of view as well as from regulations since different countries have different laws surrounding virtual currencies. Also, as this is a leak from data miners, take them with a grain of salt since Respawn has a tendency of pushing back deadlines to meet the quality demands of players.
