As Season 20 is ongoing, let’s take a look at the best Legends you can use to secure the most victories in Apex Legends.

Respawn does not put new characters into Apex Legends randomly. Instead, the developers examine a wide range of factors, such as Legends’ pick rate and their performance in unranked, ranked, and competitive matches. Based on these factors, Respawn buffs and Nerfs the Legends almost every season.

Season 16 saw a massive change to the game but now in Season 20, the game has changed significantly. The meta has completely shifted and legends are more effective with the right perk for you. This degree of customization according to your personal playstyle is a game-changer, and Resawpn knows it.

Best Legends to win in Season 20 Breakout

Breakout was the biggest change to the game by far. Gone are the old ways of armor and abilities. Now, you can level up and add perks on a game-by-game basis. This adds a new layer of strategy and randomness, since you cannot truly know what your opponents have picked. This raises the skill ceiling a lot and in turn, forces players to learn the game on a deeper level.

With these in mind, you can look forward to playing some specific legends to have a better chance of becoming the Apex Champions.

Best Assault Legends

Recommended Upgrades

Level 2Ultimate Cooldown +Reduce Ult cooldown by 60 seconds
Level 3RefugeRegenerate HP while inside smoke

Bangalore is an obvious winner in Season 20. Her legend upgrades give her a massive edge. The level 2 upgrade allows her to practically have her ultimate ability ready for every team fight. If you go up to her level 3 upgrade, it is a great combo. You can inititate a disengage and heal in your own diversion. This lets you back off safely or even reenage on your terms. All in all, Bangalore is a must pick as she can be one of the strongest.

Fuse

Recommended Upgrades

Upgrade LevelUpgrade NameDescription
Level 2Scar TissueTake 50% less damage and no slow effects from Motherlode
Level 3WrecklessTake 25% less damage from explosives

Fuse is a frustrating opponent but a fun Legend to play with. In Breakout, he can be even stronger and more annoying to deal with. One of the weak points of his ultimate was the inability to charge into your own ultimate as a zoning tool. With his level 2 upgrade, you can tank some miniscule damage and have the advantage. His level 3 is a good buff to have as in the late game, explosives can make or break your streak. Fuse is a good pick to have.

Best Skirmisher Legends

Horizon

Recommended Upgrades

Upgrade LevelUpgrade NameDescription
Level 2Big BangSpot nearby ordnance through walls and in deathboxes
Level 3Ultimate CooldownReduce ultimate cooldown by 30 seconds

Horizon’s upgrades go hand-in-hand with her playstyle. She utlitizes nades like no other legend. Her ultimate pins players down to a single place that she spams with grenades. So, having to ability to hoard grenades quickly and spamming them into her singularity is a winning combination. That’s why she is one of the better choices.

Valkyrie

Recommended Upgrades

Upgrade LevelUpgrade NameDescription
Level 2Ultimate Cooldown +Reduce Ult cooldown by 60 seconds
Level 3RefugeRegenerate HP while inside smoke

Valkyrie is now a viable option for most teams, whether they are playing on the outside or inside the zone. You can easily avoid fighting and take good spots to gain more LPs if you have a Valkyrie on your team.

Wraith

Wraith received a slight buff to her Ultimate in Season 18. Thanks to that and the previous Ultimate buff, she’s now a very viable character for ranked, casual, and competitive play. Her ability to engage or disengage quickly is a nice tool to have.

Best Recon Legends

Bloodhound

Due to Seer’s nerf, Bloodhound became the go-to pick. Furthermore, Bloodhound can easily locate the rats on a map using their scan and ring consoles. So, if you’re on a mission to hunt down rats, Bloodhound is a great option.

Crypto

Crypto is a tricky legend to use effectively, but very potent once you get the hang of it. He can scan rings, detect enemies from afar, and look for the next playable position. Moreover, Crypto can recover allies’ banners when they die without staying in the danger zone.

Best Support Legends

Loba

Loba has reclaimed her position as the best Support Legend because of the recent Ranked changes. The current Ranked mode does not encourage players to go fight and loot, picking Loba and using her Black Market to steal good stuff from under enemies’ noses becomes the obvious choice.

Conduit

Conduit is the newest Legend to be added to the game. Her abilities are used to support the team by recharging their shield, while her ultimate ability creates a radius that slows and damages enemies. Use her to take the fight to your opponents with a power surge and defend yourself from pushes while you heal back up.

Best Controller Legends

Catalyst

Catalyst was the best pick, but she was on the chopping block for Respawn. Her entire kit got a substantial nerf. However, She is still a great option for gaining LPs this season because she can scan the next ring, bunker down in any room, and hold tight while the other teams fight against each other and die.

Wattson

Wattson has dropped in popularity and pick rates over the course of the last few seasons. You can still use her to effectively turtle and nullify enemy grenades. The game is much faster-paced now, so she becomes difficult to play as her setups cannot be easily packed up and moved on.

Best Team Compositions in Season 20

Ignite has shipped with some changes to the rank progression. Therefore, the criteria for ranking up now differs from rank to rank. The intention was to make the players switch between play styles in order to progress through the ranks. As such, we have a few recommended team compositions that are more than likely to succeed, whether you are turtling or looking for a fight.

  • Team Composition 1: Horizon, Valkyrie, Crypto
  • Team Composition 2: Bangalore, Catalyst, Horizon
  • Team Composition 3: Loba, Wattson, Wraith
  • Team Composition 4: Bloodhound, Bangalore, Valkyrie
