Apex Legends Arenas may support 4v4 and 5v5 modes in the future

Respawn introduced the 3v3 Arenas game mode in Apex Legends for players to enjoy the same gameplay loop without the hassle of RNG and looting at the start of each match.

A recent leak by a pretty reliable Apex Legends data miner suggests Respawn might be working on more features to improve the already popular Arenas mode. Currently, this game mode only supports 3v3 battles.

According to the leaks, the devs are already working on 4v4 and 5v5 modes in Arenas. While Respawn designed Apex Legends from the ground up to be a team-focused game consisting of at least three players, adding more players in the same squad might spice things up a bit.

4v4 and 5v5 Arenas Modes

Apparently, adding more than three players in a squad added more uncontrolled chaos in the gameplay loop. Consequently, very early in the developing process of the battle royale mode in Apex, the devs at Respawn decided it would be better for the game to stick to a three-member squad at best.

However, seems like Respawn might be starting to experiment with the idea of having more than three players in a squad in the new Arenas mode as it might open up bigger maps as well as new gameplay opportunities for the developers to explore.

Still, Arenas mode is fairly new compared to the battle royale mode that has been there from day one. Since players have been asking Respawn to increase the squad size for some time now, a 4v4 or 5v5 Arenas mode might just be the perfect fit to fill that void.
