Amazon the owners of Twitch will presumably re-brand Twitch Prime into Prime Gaming in order to allow more opportunities for streamers to grow their viewership.

Twitch is the biggest streaming platform on the planet. Most streamers use this platform in order to grow their viewership. Twitch is operated by Twitch Interactive, a subsidiary branch of Amazon. It as a streaming platform mainly focuses on video game live streaming. Twitch also hosts live esports tournaments that reach millions of live viewers.

Amazon bought Twitch back in august of 2014 for US$ 970 Million. Since that time the popularity of Twitch just keeps growing each year. Twitch does not have any real rival at this point in terms of live streaming service. Some of its competitors are Youtube Gaming, Facebook Gaming, DLive, etc. None of them are that close in terms of live-stream viewership. Another competitor of Twitch was Mixer which shut down last month and is now a part of Facebook Gaming.

Twitch Prime Rebranding as Prime Gaming

According to Slasher on Twitter, we got the leak about the possibility of Twitch Prime being rebranded as Prime Gaming. The re-branding will apparently give more opportunities to streamers on the platform to grow their viewership.

The re-branding will help members distinguish the service more and bring it in line with other Amazon services like Prime Music and Prime Video. It will also offer streamers to be featured in future Prime Gaming Promotions.

Amazon and twitch have apparently scheduled the announcement for Monday at 11 AM PST/1 PM EST/19:00 CET(Central European Time).

According to the images attached to the tweet, we can see what Prime Gaming is and what are some of the benefits of being a member. These benefits include Emotional benefits and Functional benefits.

We will know more about what this means for the future of Twitch Prime, Amazon, and Prime Gaming when they finally announce the re-branding officially.
