Basic Controller Shortcuts
First off, pressing down on the right stick as a click will start highlighting interactable objects. The left and right bumpers on the Controller bring up your action panes, and these are fully customizable.
The left trigger brings up your party menu, allowing you to manage characters and their sheets, inventories, and more. The right trigger brings up various menus for options like camping, short rests, turning on or off turn-based mode, accessing maps, your alchemy table, and more.
In combat, the left stick lets you navigate the battlefield, and the left and right bumpers bring up your action menu. Pressing ‘B‘ closes this menu. ‘A‘ selects your current action, and using the D-pad lets you toggle between targets.
Remember, holding down on the D-pad toggles hiding. Combining abilities, like laying down grease and then lighting it on fire, can create powerful combos. Remember, the combos in this game are fantastic, so use them whenever you can.
Advance Controller Shortcuts
PlayStation Controller on PC: Disabling Steam Input will display the PS5 button layout for those using a PlayStation controller on PC. To do this, go to Options, then Interface, and choose ‘Controller Only Input.’
Examining Enemies: To examine enemies, disconnect from your character by pressing down on L3. Fly around the map, highlight an enemy, press X, and select ‘Examine’ to get detailed information.
Reordering Party: To reorder your party with a controller, press the left trigger to bring up the party menu, select the character to move, press Y to split them, then use the up button to rejoin them to the party. This might not be as intuitive as using a keyboard and mouse, but it’s doable.
Interface Customization: Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a consistent solution for rearranging the action wheel. Feedback to the developers about this issue could be helpful.
Inventory Management: Use the right trigger to bring up the menu, and you can transfer items in and out of battle. You can also select multiple items to send to camp or other characters, streamlining inventory management.
Equipment and Inventory: Equipment options display gear across all characters. Multi-select with the right trigger to streamline transferring gear.
Light Source and Hiding: Holding up on the d-pad equips a torch, improving visibility. Holding down on the D-pad activates hiding mode, showing detectable areas.
Moving Objects: Hold down the A button for a wide scan, then use X to interact. You can also use left and right on the D-pad to tab target between objects.
