Ubisoft recently announced the latest season coming to Rainbow Six Siege, which will be called Operation Neon Dawn.

We also got the first official look at the new Defender, Aruni, who will be joining the Rainbow Six Siege team in the upcoming season. And as stated by Ubisoft, Aruni will be ‘bringing the heat🔥’ to the game.

Aruni

According to previous leaks, Aruni features a unique gadget named “laser reinforcement“, which allows her to place a grid of lasers in doorways, dealing 40 damage to attackers and gets disabled once attackers pass through them twice. And she’s supposed to have 3 of these gadgets.

Aruni also has a prosthetic arm, allowing her to make larger sized melee holes in soft walls. She can use her arm to create rotations also, but it won’t be very time-efficient.

In her loadout, Aruni will have the P10 Roni, Dokkaebi’s MK 14 EBR DMR, and the PRB92 Handgun as her secondary. She also has the option of barbed wire or a bulletproof camera as her secondary gadget.

We’ll still have to wait for the full reveal and see what optics will be available for her primary guns, as Mozzie’s P10 Roni with the 1.5x scope seems to be favoring him really well.

Skyscraper Map rework

According to the Year 5 roadmap, Ubisoft was supposed to release the Skyscraper rework in Year 5 Season 3. But for some unknown reasons, we instead got the Chalet rework first. So this season, Skyscraper rework will finally be arriving and leaker Zer0Bytes_ has already released some footage of this new rework from the dev build. However, we still have to wait to see the polished version of this map rework.

Neon Dawn expected changes

According to Ubisoft’s year 5 roadmap, there will also be some new changes made to the core gameplay. However, at this moment we don’t have any solid information for these changes.

R6 caster Dezachu, who got early hands-on experience with the new season. tweeted out saying “Ubisoft are aware of the 20-second meta, and are working to address it”. This might be a great sign for the professional scene and the Esports viewers, who are frustrated about this current meta, and maybe it’ll get better with the new season.

However, don’t get your hopes up high now, as we’ll have to wait and see how the new season plays out when it drops on the live servers.

Operation Neon Dawn will be officially revealed before the European November Major Finals on November 8th at 17:00 CET. The first match of the EU November Major starts tonight at 13:00 CET, so make sure to tune in at R6Twitch and grab the special in-game charms.
