Age of Empires 4 confirmed to be releasing in October 2021

After multiple teasers and trailers, the release date of Age of Empires 4 was officially announced today in E3 2021 by Microsoft.

The game was announced earlier today in E3 2021. The Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 for short is the biggest video game event of the year and like all years before it, brings us a lot of exciting new Gameplay trailers and reveals. The event is typically held in Los Angeles but this year, the event has been held online. The game trailer showcase and announcements are all going to be streamed live so viewers can enjoy from the comfort of their homes. The event will go on from June 12th to June 15th.

Age of Empires has always been a staple in the RTS or Real Time Strategy genre. Alot of people including myself prefer the RTS genre over the TBS or Turn based genre of strategy games. The first two games released closely in 1997 and 1999 and the third installment released in 2005. Age of Empires is a franchise a lot of us grew up playing.

The Age of Empires series was somewhat forgotten after that but in 2018-2019 the Definitive Editions of AOE and AOE II were released with AOE II DE having a small but consistent amount of loyal players regularly. Now after a long 16 years since the third title, Age of Empires 4 is finally going to be released.
